Picnic event at Mundaring Sculpture Park, June 16
Despite a bit of rain, this event was a great success, with new contacts established and added to the list. All six PHCCIG committee members attended, and in all we gained seven new contacts. Steve Gates from the Nature Reserves Preservation Group also attended. The invitation was to other local groups who are working for climate action or environmental protection to meet with a view to sharing ideas and information at a very informal meet and greet. We discussed other groups’ scope and capabilities and there was also some talk about the Community Independents Project’s ability to drive climate action at a state and federal government level.
We met people from Parents for Climate (Perth and Hills branches) from Jane Brook Catchment group, Nannas for Native Forests (Perth Hills branch), Jarrah Friends Group and Extinction Rebellion (Grandparents – Mundaring).
